Summary of Work Start Scheme Placement Opportunity
 An excellent opportunity to work for a business based at the foot of the Clwydian Range in beautiful North Wales, Siop y Pentre Llanrhaeadr and The Welsh Food Company cater for local residents, as well as a heavy footfall of passing customers and internet clients. Duties/Responsibilities
Job Overview: The Shop Assistant and Packer is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining store appearance, and handling inventory and packing duties. This role involves interacting with customers, managing stock, and ensuring that products are packaged and prepared for delivery efficiently. Key Responsibilities: Customer Service: Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner. Answer customer queries and provide product information. Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system. Food Preparation Preparation of food, such as hot and cold sandwiches. Preparation and packing of sliced meats. Heating of food items Hot drinks preparation   Store Maintenance: Ensure the store is clean, organized, and well-stocked. Replenish shelves and displays as needed.   Inventory Management: Receive and check incoming shipments for accuracy and quality. Update inventory records and report discrepancies. Assist with stock rotation and managing product expiration dates.   Packing and Shipping: Prepare and pack orders for delivery or pickup .Ensure that packing is done efficiently and securely to prevent damage. Label and dispatch packages according to shipping guidelines.   Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve store goals. Participate in training and development activities as required.  
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Personal Qualities
Previous experience in retail or customer service is advantageous but not essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and moving items. Basic math skills and familiarity with cash handling. Attention to detail and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. Reliable, punctual and friendly Welsh desirable but not essential
Special Working Conditions
  Retail environment with potential for working Saturdays . May require standing for extended periods and handling moderate to heavy lifting.
